Youth Programme Launched

Published on Thursday, November 20, 2008 Email To Friend    Print Version

Young people on Cayman Brac will have a diversion during their recovery from Hurricane Paloma.

The youth programme ‘Eight Days of Light’, a joint effort by Community Development Officer Annie Rose Scott, the National Youth Commission, and The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, was launched Monday, 17 November, at the Brac Youth Development Centre on Student Drive in Creek.

Ten naturalists from The Ritz-Carlton Ambassadors of the Environment by Jean-Michel Cousteau will facilitate the programme with Ritz-Carlton personnel, Brac staffers, and other volunteers. Numerous fun and educational activities are planned.

The programme, which lasts through Monday, 24 November, will offer organised activities for youth aged 8-19 years and will accommodate more than 100 participants.

Transport will be provided, with roadside pick-up starting at 8.00 am. The programme will end at 5.00 pm daily and the youngsters will be dropped off afterwards.

For more information, call Annie Rose Scott at 916-7310 or Jenny Manderson, at the National Youth Commission, at 916-3120.
