Art@Governors 2009 is set to “Make a Difference” On Saturday 31st January over 100 artists, crafts people and designers will be demonstrating their talents at this year’s Art@Governors event, under the theme “Making a Difference”. Museum opens to the public The National Museum is open for visits by the public, and is offering two tours a day until December 31st. Tours begin at 9:30 am and 11:30 am. This is an opportunity to see the restored building before exhibits are installed early 2009. Interested persons should check in at the Museum Gift Shop, which is now open for business. The staff and Board of the National Museum wish all a blessed Christmas.

National Gallery programmes Programmes are temporarily suspended in the Sister Islands due to the recovery process. In the interim, one off art workshops will be held in order to provide a creative outlet at this time. Stake Bay Post Office hours extended The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) has extended the Cayman Brac Stake Bay Post Office hours. Business hours will now be from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday. Sister Islands residents are reminded that all post office box renters have 24 hours access to their boxes. All General Delivery customers on Cayman Brac will have access to their mail at Stake Bay Post Office only.
Vehicle Licensing Department and Treasury Dept operate from District Administration The Vehicle Licensing Department is operating from the parking lot of the District Administration Building from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. This temporary relocation is due to damage sustained to the inspection building located on Stake Bay Street. The Treasury Department, where all vehicle inspection and licensing fees are to be paid, is also open daily at the District Administration Building from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Cayman Brac Day Care Centre & Youth Development Centre’s Opening Hours The Cayman Brac Day Care Centre is open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm daily for children who were previously enrolled. The Centre’s regular hours, which were from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, will resume as soon as possible. The Centre’s services cater to babies and toddlers only. School-aged children can instead participate in a youth programme at the Youth Development Centre, which runs between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm daily from Monday to Friday.
