Adam Stainrod Sharks Player of the Game
|
The Shark tank at King’s Sports Centre has been a frenzy for the last 2 weeks of WestTel Youth Roller Hockey action.
In Week 5 Pee Wee action play, the Sharks leading scorer Tynan Klein posted all 5 goals to take the win from the Vampt Oilers.
In Week 6 play this past weekend, the Sharks dominated again in a very tight game against the Hurley’s Hawks.
The Sharks spoiled the Hawks’ early 5-2 lead with a come-from-behind onslaught of goals to tie it up at 5-5 with a minute left in the game.
With only 19 seconds left on the clock, young Adam Stainrod took the puck on a breakaway and scored to give the Sharks the win, a sensational play that earned Stainrod the title Player of the Game.
The win also put the Sharks in Number 1 position in the PeeWee division standings. Hawks Player of the Game was Marissa Towell.
Leading point scorers for the game were Klein (3) for the Sharks and Finn Walker (4) for the Hawks.
Coincidentally, Walker and Klein also lead the division in total points with 22 and 21 points respectively.
Pee Wee Division Game 2 action also saw a big upset for the Five Continents Leafs as the Vampt Oilers chalked their first win of the season with a 7-1 victory over the Leafs.
The win was much deserved for the Oilers who had only 4 skaters, all of whom played the entire game. One such player was Marc Reid who, once again, attended the game fresh from a tennis tournament match and still managed to tally 4 points and earn the title of Player of the Game.
Other lead point scorers were Leon Domladis (5) and Daniel Harrington (4). Leafs Player of the Game was goaltender Sean Whewell who again had a stellar performance between the pipes.
The WestTel Youth Roller Hockey League continues at Kings Sports Centre on Saturdays with 8 games scheduled to be played from 8:00 a.m. through to 4:00 p.m. Game schedules are posted at www.csa.ky. |
