Youth league football kickoff is postponed

The start of the youth league has been postponed two weeks.

Paulette Conolly-Bailey announced that the Youth League will start on 17 November, at both T E McField Sports Complex and Ed Bush Stadium.

“The start of the youth league has been delayed to 17 November, when the U-13 league will kickoff at the Annex and Ed Bush Fields. An update will be forthcoming soon on re-schedules,” Ms Conolly-Bailey said citing circumstance beyond the Youth Committee’s control.

The much anticipated Cayman Islands Football Association Youth League 2009 / 2010 season was previously set to kick off on 2 November, at the refurbished football fields throughout Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac.

The age groups for the season’s competition will be as follows: U-13 (players born January1997 or after), U-15 (players born January 1995 and after), U-17 (players born January 1993 and after).

Matches will be played on weekday afternoons, Mondays and on Saturdays (in the mornings) and occasionally before the senior league matches.

The venues that will be utilised this year include the T.E. McField (Annex) field in George Town, Ed Bush stadium in West Bay , G. Haig Bodden Field in Bodden Town next to the civic center, Northside Field, Donavan Rankine (East End) Field and Cayman Brac Bluff Field.
