Players invited to national training

Cayman national star Theron Wood faced Jamaican opponents.

The Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA), in collaboration with Technical Director Carl Brown have invited a number of players to train for trials for selection on the national senior men’s team which begins preparations for the 2010 Digicel Caribbean Championship Qualifiers commencing in March 2010.

National Team trials began November 4th and will continue every Wednesday and Fridays at the National Stadium in the Truman Bodden Sport Complex. Starting time is 6:30pm.

The selected players are Ramon Sealy, Abijah Rivers, Dexter Benliss, Leighton Elliott, Leon Whittaker, Rene Carter, Donald Solomon, Jermaine Brown, Mario Dinall, Andre McFarlane, Luigi Hernandez, Dave McLaughlin, Paul Brown, Oniel Taylor, Ian Lindo, Hank Parchment, Jason Ebanks, Jedd Ebanks, Jairo Sanchez, Nicholas Ebanks, Lorenzo Brown, Roderick Pearson, James Ebanks, Richard Grant, Donavan Godet, Derrin Ebanks, Tex Whitelocke, Theron Wood, Mark Ebanks, Gabriel Godet and Alejandro Ruiz.

The Cayman Islands national team had their last real competition in October last year in the second stage of this same competition when they were knocked out of the finals in the “Group of Death” in Guadeloupe. They faced the Reggae Boyz in another international game played here last June and lost the game 2-1.
