MO Bros from last year’s MOvember get dressed up to celebrate the occasion and complement their MOs.
As the official media sponsors, dms Broadcasting Ltd. stations X107.1 and 96.5 CAYROCK, are encouraging Cayman to come out and show their support to all the MOvember participants and celebrate their efforts. Sponsored also by Budweiser and TeleCayman, the month’s charitable endeavour will come to a close with a wrap-up party, the “MOsquerade Ball”, at MOgaritaville on Friday, MOvember 27th, from 7 pm to 2 am.
In a month-long commitment, for all of November, men of Cayman have grown and groomed a moustache (MO) to raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues, with the local beneficiary being the Cayman Islands Cancer Society. Though there is no entry fee at the finale party, donations will be collected at the door.
Leading the way by example, Dane of X107.1’s The Morning X signed on for the challenge. He commented, “Over the course of the month we have had lots of socializing mixers to compare our progress – and this will be such a fun note to close out the month, and see once and for all who the real men of Cayman are! All in the name of charity, come out and make some noise for men’s health – plus there will be fantastic prizes to take home!”
The individual who raised the most sponsorship money will be announced and awarded with a $500 KYD travel voucher. There will also be fun prize giveaways to those deemed to be sporting the most unique moustaches, as voted by a counsel of Mo-experts, and a raffle including a $1,000 KYD travel voucher as well as a selection of prizes from Dolphin Cove, Cayman Helicopters, Wakeboarding and Paddleboarding vouchers, and more.
Commented Chairman of the MOvember Committee Tim Rossiter, “Since this annual event caught wind in Cayman in 2005, we have raised US $115,000 and we can’t wait to see what we have raised this year. We hope to see a lot of familiar faces out there as we rally up the troops and close out the month with a bang! Come along and enjoy the night’s festivities, and watch as we reward our participants for their efforts, with lots of different fun categories such as the ‘best Trucker MO’ and ‘best Under-12 MO’, with awesome prizes up for grabs.”
On the night, MO Bros are encouraged to don fancy dress to match their MOs – and ladies are encouraged to match their man’s MO. The night will be full of highlights including Suckerbox rocking the house all night long, and there will be all-night drink specials including $3 KYD beers from all Cayman Distributors beers (Budweiser, Bud Light. Red Stripe, Corona), $3 KYD shots and $4 well drinks.
Added dms Broadcasting’s Network Promotions and Marketing Manager Phil Vinciullo, “As always, thank you to all the sponsors along the way – it’s an all-hands-on-board effort to bring attention and raise funds for worthy causes such as this, and it definitely could not be the success that it has been each year without the generosity of the people of Cayman.” |
