Radio announcers treat listeners

Published on Thursday, May 8, 2008 Email To Friend    Print Version

The X107.1 FM SoBe Adrenaline Rush Street Team visits their loyal listeners – the
staff at Cayman Airways Head Office.

Listeners had their thirsts quenched by X107.1 FM’s SoBe Adrenaline Rush Street Team during a two-week campaign last month.

During the 12 to 26 April promotion the team spontaneously gave complimentary SoBe (South Beach Beverage Company) samples to passersby at various locations.

Additionally, they visited offices and schools to give listeners the opportunity to try the product.

The X107.1 Breakfast Team’s Sian Thomas and Dane Ramoon were the driving force behind the team. The Street Team kicked off the campaign by handing out complimentary cans to shoppers outside Foster’s Food Fair by the airport.

In the days leading up to the event, X107.1 listeners were encouraged to email the name and location of their business and the team would then visit them at work.

Both announcers visited businesses to drop off delicious samples as well as visiting Walkers Road to treat children at the end of the school day.

“It was definitely a unique way to break up the monotony of an otherwise mundane working day – our listeners seemed genuinely excited to see us,” Ms Thomas said.

“We always appreciate the opportunity to interact directly with them.”

The X107.1 team spearheaded a similar effort during summer 2007 when they hit the streets to introduce a different flavour of SoBe during its launch in Grand Cayman.
