Dart Realty, founders and builders of Camana Bay, have announced a recruitment drive for five top executives with salaries pegged between US$100,000 and US$300,000 per year.

Among the new slots, according to Susanna Blackburn, Dart Realty Communications Manager, are chief operating officer and chief financial officer, reflecting the organisation’s rapid growth as its 500-acre mixed-use Camana Bay community moves into a fresh design and construction phase.

“These are key new positions,” she said, “and there are some others right through the organisation.”

Recruitment is scheduled to start immediately, inviting applications by Friday, 6 June.

At the same time, the firm announced creation of Dart Enterprises, a holding company to promote local investments and international trade.

“This will hold a handful of our active business investments such as Cayman Distributors and Island Companies, our Cayman-based companies,” Ms Blackburn said. “It’s being done in parallel with what is going on at Dart Realty, the expansion of key roles in senior management.”

According to a formal company statement, creation of Dart Enterprises “provides opportunities for growth as new job vacancies arise and members of senior management transition within the group”. New executives, the statement said, would “supplement the management team”.

“This is a long-term initiative which will best position us for future growth and success, and is part of a larger review of the organsation as a whole,” said Mark VanDevelde, Managing Director of Dart Realty, simultaneously assuming a similar title at Dart Enterprises.

“As Dart Realty continues to grow, there are some exciting new opportunities for those with specific expertise and experience in the real estate and property-management professions,” he said.

Dart Realty, established in 1995 after acquiring land for Camana Bay, holds a portfolio of properties in various stages of development. Salt Creek, for example, is a multi-phase residential project, while the Regatta Park office complex comprises six buildings and 128,000 square feet.

Dart Realty is a subsidiary of the Dart Container Corporation, originally known as Dart Manufacturing, founded in Michigan as a small machine shop, and now making packaging for the food service and retail industries.

Managers expect Dart Realty restructuring to finish by the end of the year.
