Jodi Hunter
Owner of Funky Monkey Lifestyle Wear

Opened only for six weeks, Funky Monkey Lifestyles Wear has something for the entire family. The store carries a wide variety of apparel from sports, yoga, beach, and casual wear. With a price range of $16 to $114, it is not too far out of anyone’s budget. There are brands from Canada, the United States, Argentina and Brazil.

Although the store primarily caters to women between the ages of 8 to 45, Funky Monkey also offers casual and workout suits for men and swimsuits for children ranging from 12 months to size 4T. The focus of the store is for people who like to be outdoors and who are very active.

“The unique thing about my store is the fact that these brands cannot be found anywhere else on the Island. You can find something for every part of your life from workout clothes to your swimsuit to your casual wear,” owner Jodi stated.

The special feature of the store is the ‘Vata Brazil’ brand made in Brazil but shipped out of Canada. They make ‘Free Fit,’ which is a custom fit material that is very soft and durable. It fits any size, shape and form. It truly is ‘one size fits all’.

The other major brands of the store are TQM Apparel from California in the USA, Lotus Wear from Canada, Admit One from Argentina and One Tooth from Canada. One Tooth is made by the same factory of a well-known Canadian brand called Lulu Lemon but has a better price range.

“The store is very spacious, so you can see all the displays and there is room to scan the shelves without bumping into other customers. Everyone can find something in here from sunglasses to slippers to even earrings,” Mrs Hunter added.

The store is very versatile. You can find yoga suits, tracksuits, tennis outfits, sports bras, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, bikinis, bags, casual dresses, pants, shirts and skirts. Mrs Hunter stated, “The casual items can either be dressed up and worn to work or dressed down to wear everyday.”

Located in Governor’s Square, Unit 2-103 (opposite of Cost U Less) on West Bay Road, Funky Monkey is accessible to everyone.
