The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association’s Monthly Meeting
The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association would like to invite everyone to their Monthly meeting on Wednesday 4 June at 6:00 pm at the Woman’s Health Centre, George Town Hospital.
Guest Speaker will be Dr. Mathews on “Managing your Diabetes”.
All diabetics and family members are encouraged to come out to gain some valuable knowledge from the speaker. For more information call 916 7938 or 326-6166.

International Ladies’ Club’s Monthly Coffee Morning
International Ladies’ Club will hold its monthly coffee morning on Thursday, 5 June at 9:30 am at the Brick House Restaurant in the Grand Harbour Centre. For this pre-summer month there will be no cost for members and CI$10 for non-members. For information phone Sharon at 925-8703.

CICS Support Group
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society Support Group is advising that the support group is free of cost to anyone in the community, including anyone who is affected by cancer or family, friends and supporters. Meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of every month at the CICS office on 33 Eclipse Drive, off Eastern Avenue, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Email office@cics.ky for more information.

BOAC Annual General Meeting
Mr Rickey Sealy, President of the BOAC, announces that the Annual General meeting of the Barbados Overseas Association of the Cayman Islands will be held on Saturday 7 June at the George Town Primary School Hall commencing at 7:00 pm. Main items on the agenda will be the election of officers, and Hurricane Preparedness for the 2008 hurricane season. All Barbadians are invited to attend.

John Gray High School’s Family Fun Run/Walk
John Gray High School (JGHS) will be having a Family Fun 2-mile Run/Walk on Saturday 7 June from 7:00 am. Start/Finish – John Gray High. Registration Fee: Adults CI$10.00; Children under 12 years: CI$5.00. T-shirts for the first 300 participants. Prizes to be won such at cell phones, MP4 players, Movie tickets etc. Registration forms available at JGHS and pre-registration on Friday 6 June. Call 949-9444 for more info.

First Assembly of God Church’s ‘Soldiers of the Light’ youth group holds Garage Sale and Car Wash
The First Assembly of God’s youth group Soldiers of the Light will be having a garage sale and car wash on Saturday 7 June in the church’s car park, 195 Old Crewe Road (off Linford Pierson Highway). Garage Sale from 6:30 am until 10:00 am and Car Wash follows right afterwards until 5:00 pm. All funds will go towards the Soldiers of the Light production ‘Metamorphosis II’ which will be held on Friday 18 July. Scouts Host Annual Kite Event
The Cayman Islands Scout Association hosts its annual kite flying event on Saturday 7 June at the Jay Bodden Marl Pit on Sparky Drive, behind CUC, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Refreshments on sale, and a variety of prizes for unique kites, biggest and smallest kites, etc. Entry fee for flying kites – children $5; adults $10. Contact 916-3941 for more information.

Triple C School Alumni Association hosts Reunion Picnic
Triple C School Alumni Association will host an Alumni Reunion Picnic at the Seven Mile Public Beach on Saturday 7 June 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and the Association says that any and all former students are invited to the reunion to come out and share a few hours with fellow schoolmates in a time of reminiscing as they welcome back one of the Founders of the School. ‘Under the Sea’ Party at St Ignatius
Island Companies and radio station Z-99 will be hosting their ‘Under the Sea’ Party to raise funds for St. Ignatius Catholic School Classroom Technology on Saturday 7 June at 7:00 pm at the Transformed St Ignatius Loyola Hall (by Lions Productions). Business & Professional Women’s Club Meetings
The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman meets every 3rd Monday of the month, however in recognition of the Public Holiday on Monday 16 June (Queen’s Birthday) the meeting will be held on Wednesday, 18 June. Cayman Islands Museum’s Gift Shop
The Cayman Islands Museum’s gift shop will be closed on Saturdays. The Museum’s gift shop, located in Panton House, will serve the public Mondays to Fridays.

Conch and Whelk Season Closes
Conch and whelk-taking season has ended. Department of Environment officials accordingly remind the public that anyone found guilty of violating the law is ­liable to a maximum penalty of CI$500,000 and one year in jail.
