Mel Chantelope received an award for the most improved player of the tournament from Eula Cameron.

Saturday, 28 June saw the third annual Dale Gordon memorial basketball presentation at Cayman Brac High School. The event was co-hosted by Sports Association of the Sister Islands (SASI) and Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church. Paramount Carpets Cayman Brac assisted by sponsoring water to all the athletes and officials for each night of the tournament. The tournament ran the entire month of May, every Monday and Thursday night on CBHS grounds.

This year saw a lot fresh talent emerging, as well as players improving on their game from previous tournaments. With high velocity games, the court was buzzing every Tuesday and Thursday night. Most improved player for the youth division went to Mel Chantelope while in the men’s division, Greg Ebanks walked away with the honours.

The winner of the Dale Gordon memorial competition went to the Heat Team in the youth division, while Antique Warriors took top prize in the men’s division.

Sports Instructor Mitchum Sanford would like to thank Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church, SASI, CBHS, Paramount Carpets Cayman Brac, Jun Gazzingan, Flynn Bush, Amadello Mena, Manix Scott, Ralston & Tammy Dilbert, Popo Jeb’s Pizza, Tricia Scott, Fern Scott, athletes, parents, guardians, and supporters for their support throughout the tournament.
