West Bay Assembly of God continues its Crusade Services, Children’s Ministry and Health Care Clinics The West Bay Assembly of God Church continues its Crusade Services with a 40 member visiting team from New Jersey, USA, to Thursday 31 July, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm each night, at the church site, 100 Finch Drive, off Stadium Road, and a Children’s ministry, which includes puppet show drama and skits. They will also be continuing the free Primary Health Care Clinics on the church site until Thursday 31 July, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. All are invited. Call 945-2182 or 946-2455 for more information.

Independence Day Service
The Jamaican Consulate office wishes to inform the public that they will be closed on Friday 1 August in recognition of Jamaica’s Emancipation Day and on Monday 4 August in recognition of Jamaica’s Independence Day. They also invite everyone to join them in a Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate the 46th Anniversary of Jamaica’s Independence at 9:00 am on Sunday 3 August at the St. George’s Anglican Church on Courts Road, off Eastern Avenue. ICCI Fall 2008 Quarter Registration
Priority registration is in effect at the International College of the Cayman Islands to Friday 1 August. Orientation for new, transfer and re-admitted students is scheduled for Thursday, 4 September. Classes begin September 8, 2008. George Town 7th-Day Adventist Church’s VBS

National Trust Discovery Summer Camp
The National Trust invites parents to register their children ages 6-11 for the National Trust Discovery Summer Camp the week of 4 - 8 August from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. An exciting week planned with a variety of activities including snorkeling on the reef, exploring seagrass beds and mangroves, learning about insects and nature, discovering species unique to the Cayman Islands, and recycling.
Games from yesteryear, learning home crafts and discovering the beautiful details of traditional Caymanian buildings. Cost: $160.00 for Members or $200.00 for non-Members. CNCF offers Summer Arts Camp
The Cayman National Cultural Foundation is offering a Summer Arts Camp for youngsters 8 to 15 years old. Camp activities include storytelling, art, craft, dance and theatre. CTA Summer Arts Camp 2008
Children ages 5-11 are invited to a weekly camp for the month of July which continues until Friday 8 August, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm with pick up and drop off at Kirk’s Supermarket.

KRI Performing Arts’ Summer Camp
KRI Performing Arts School continues their summer camp for children between 7 and 13 years old, until 8 August. The camp will be held at Dorcy Place, Industrial Park between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm on weekdays. Activities will include dance, drama, music, modeling and field trips. The cost will be $200 per week. National Trust’s Thursdays in July at 8:00 am, ‘What Bird is That?’
The Mastic Trail is home to a wide variety of animals and plants unique to the Cayman Islands. Join the National Trust for an informative bird watching activity, featuring sightings of Cayman’s unique avifauna. National Trust’s Blue Iguana Safari in July on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Museum seeks photos and information
Administrators of the Cayman Islands Museum are appealing to the public for any building-related historic photographs and information, to be used for reference purposes only.
Urgently required are photographs of the exterior and interior of the Old Courts Building and Gaol and/or information on the former uses of this public building.
Museum staff is also seeking specific objects such as a period gavel, a 1950s policeman’s uniform and, for an unrelated exhibit, a Cayman Turtle Soup can or other objects pertaining to the turtle canning industry.
Persons who may be able to assist with information, photographs or any of the items listed are urged to contact Debra Barnes-Tábora at the Museum by calling 949-8368 or email DebraTabora@museum.ky.

Cayman Islands Museum’s Gift Shop
The Cayman Islands Museum’s gift shop will be closed on Saturdays. The Museum’s gift shop, located in Panton House, will serve the public Mondays to Fridays.

CICS Support Group
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society Support Group is advising that the support group is free of cost to anyone in the community, including anyone who is affected by cancer or family, friends and supporters. Meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of every month at the CICS office on 33 Eclipse Drive, off Eastern Avenue, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Email office@cics.ky for more information.

Conch and Whelk Season Closes
Conch and whelk-taking season has ended. Department of Environment officials accordingly remind the public that anyone found guilty of violating the law is liable to a maximum penalty of CI$500,000 and one year in jail. The open season for whelk and conch runs from 1 November to 30 April each year. For more information visit www.gov.ky/doe or call 949-8469.

Used Stamps
The National Trust is also collecting used stamps. Just drop them off at the Visitor’s Centre at the Dart Park or Mission House.

‘Paws and Claws’ Thrift Shop on the Brac
‘Paws and Claws’, a thrift shop of the Brac Branch of the Humane Society, is located next to Sailboat Plaza. Clothing, household items, books and gift items available at very low prices, and sometimes furniture and building supplies are also donated.
