Josef Abrhám and Libuse Safránková, stars of the film ‘Waiter, run for it’.

The National Gallery will present the film ‘Waiter, run for it’ on Monday, 11 August at Harbour Place in George Town. The film runs from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Set in the communist era, this brilliant comedy tells the story of a man who has been married several times and had to support several children, the National Gallery said in previewing the film.

He finds it hard to cope with his financial situation so he finds a way to earn extra money by playing the violin in a café, the National Gallery added.

One evening, a drunken guest mistakes him for the waiter and gives him cash for the bill and that’s when the fun starts.

Directed by Ladislav Smoljak and starring Libuse Safránková and Josef Abrhám, the CineClub targets foreign and art-film lovers who want a cinema experience of movies from around the world outside of mainstream movies.
