MacDonald Machingura

MacDonald Machingura is a busy sportsman who often transverses six sport disciplines every weekend to ensure that he skips nothing in his diary.

Born in Zimbabwe, Machingura started playing football in primary school at 10 years old. He has since grown through the game to be a Coach of Grace Wesleyan Under-11 and Under 9 teams who recently made it to the knockout round of the Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) Primary Football League.

Machingura has been playing football in the five-a-side League appearing for Budget Barracudas over the last six months. Recently he has joined the KPMG team.

Machingura also plays for the DHL Storms rugby team. His team won the Alexander WaterFord cup last year where he scored the last try.

“This is my favourite sport in the Island. I enjoy the sociable atmosphere that accompanies the game,” he says.

Lately he has started playing Gaelic football and has registered for the League. To maintain his form, Machingura trains in the gym four times a week and jogs as often as he can.

“I am not good in any sport, but I try as much as I can so that I can set an example for my students. I really enjoy coaching and teaching, the love of sport is really good in me,” he says.
