The Tennis Federation of the Cayman Islands will host an Officials Training Course on the weekend of 30 October - 1 November.
In a statement the federation noted that the course is meant for those who want to become an accredited Level 1 Official or simply want to brush up on line calling technique.
“You need to attend this weekend course. It will start either Friday evening or Saturday morning. We will confirm exact timing when we have the details. ITF Officials will be running the course for us,” the statement read.
The course targets those would like to be a lines official at the Legends Series Event held at the Ritz Carlton.
“We are also looking for volunteers so that we can offer Umpires and Lines Officials at Junior Events and local tournaments here in the Cayman Islands. To register your interest please e-mail citennisfed@gmail.com. A sign-up sheet will also be posted at The Tennis Club. Places are limited, so please book your place now."
The PWC Junior Tennis Circuit Event at Camana Bay will also be held 30 October – 1 November. Applicants are advised to complete the Entry Form and submit it to his/her tennis coach by no later than Wednesday, 28 October.
The Tennis Federation will host the Walkers ‘Play & Stay’ Mini tennis at Camana Bay, Sunday, 1 November from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The event will be a family-based event for all juniors and adults, “Your chance to play tennis for free, have fun and get some exercise on a Sunday afternoon. “The Federation at the same time congratulated Morgan Hayward, Edward Bodden and Nicolas Polloni who won Grand Prix #1 of the PWC Junior Tennis Circuit at The Ritz-Carlton.
