The past president Molly-Ann Moore wished the new team success and said she hoped that the members will be supportive of the office now.

“I hope that the new committee will be supported and I wish them all the luck in the world. To be honest we did not get enough support, yet we have more than 100 members. We only had five to six people working” .

Under her watch CISA organized an international tournament Nicaraguan International Tournament last month, attended by the Minister for Sports Hon Mark Scotland.

Eerlier Ms Elise Narcisso was elected as the new President for the NIST committee for the next three years

The Cayman Islands Softball Association hosted the Nicaraguan International Softball Tournament (N.I.S.T.) on September 5 - 6 at the Field of Dreams. Male and female teams visited from New York, California, Miami and Nicaragua. There were 9 visiting teams and 4 local teams.

Through a press statement posted at Caymanactive.com, the association thanked all those who participated to make the tournament a success.

The tournament was a complete success as the organizing committee did their home work by organizing persons to volunteer in different areas

Additionally, what made the tournament a sweet victory was the fact that the Cayman male A Team turned out to be the Champions and the Cayman female A Team runnerup in their division.

Puerto Cabezas (Nicaragua) female team were crowned Champions and Bluefields, Miami were runnerup in the male division.

The association thanked the sponsors of the event.

“This tournament would not be possible without the assistance of sponsors such as: Western Union, Cayman Islands Olympic Committee, Caledonian Bank and the Cayman Islands Government, in addition to other businesses and individuals”.

“And who could forget the organizing committee and the dedicated group of volunteers that worked extensive hours throughout the days and nights?”

“To the Minister of Sports, Mr. Mark Scotland, Director of Sports, Mr. Dalton Watler, special guests and NIST committee members, To the persons that stayed back and helped clean up the facility.”
