Ritz Jesters beat Dolphin Cove 18-7 in a softball league game played at the Field of Dreams on Thursday, 29 October.
On Wednesday last week, Doghouse beat PwC B 18-4 in a game played at the same venue.
Two days earlier saw City Slickers thrashed Hellcats 7-0 at the same venue in another fixture in the same league.
Maples Sluggers got the better of KPMG A with a 14-12 victory in the INTER League. Caybrew Chuggers stamped their dominance over KM Ltd with a 13-7 victory in the A League on Thursday 29 October.
Earlier in the week Jose’s Escape beat Deloitte Canada Bacon 16-9. Home Gas overpowered Cayman Coolers with a 19-8 victory.
The coordinator of the league Alan Markoff noted that much of the A-League seeding is set. In the A-1 division, Jose’s Escape get the number 2 seed if they win their final game or if the Coolers lose their last game. If neither of these things happens, the tie will be broken by run differential since the teams split their season series.
In the A-2 division, where there is a tie for first place, the Chuggers are the number1 seed if they win their final game, even if KM Ltd. wins its final game, because the Chuggers hold the first tie-breaker, having won both games in the season series. If the Chuggers lose their last game and KM Ltd. wins their last game, then KM Ltd. is the number1 seed.
In the B-1 division, the City Slickers earn the number 1 seed if they win their final game against Doghouse or if the Doghouse lose either of their last two games. If Doghouse win against City Slickers and also win their last game against the Ritz, then Doghouse is the number1 seed and City Slickers are the number2 seed. Interestingly, if Doghouse lose both of their games next week, they could conceivably end up the number5 seed. The rest of the seeding in the B-1 division is still up in the air.
In the B-2 division, Julius Baer win the number1 seed if they win their final game, or if KPMG Bounty Hunters lose either of their two games next week. Even if Julius Baer lose their last game and the Bounty Hunters win their final two games, Julius Baer is likely the number1 seed because the tie-breaker would go to run differential since the teams split the season series. Julius Baer currently holds a virtually insurmountable 39-run lead in run differential.
If Senor Frogs win their final game, they are the number 3 seed and Hellcats are the number 4 seed. If Senor Frogs lose and Hellcats win their final game, then Hellcats are the number 3 seed and Senor Frogs is the number4 seed. |
